Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding | Ryan + Makenzie

The day was perfect for Ryan and Makenzie’s St Peter Catholic Church and Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding. We are always intrigued by the couples we get to meet and the stories of how they met and the proposal that eventually leads to their wedding day. Makenzie and Ryan were very open and candid about their relationship and this was refreshing. This was seemingly a struggle between heart and mind and as often the case, the heart wins many times over. This is not only a story of the wedding day but a chronicle of the pursuit, persistence and setting free.

The back drop of this wedding was the beautiful State of Colorado. We met up with Ryan and Makenzie a few days before the wedding for a short informal chat about the genesis of their relationship. It is fun when we meet and connect with our couples and find similar interests. We own a boat and talked to Ryan about his love of the lake life and talked to Makenzie about her love of Colorado and climbing Fourteeners, which we also love.

One of the things about Colorado, no matter the time of year, you can always find beauty and filming in the fall certainly gave us some great landscape shots. But setting that aside, Makenzie is a beautiful woman and she looked stunning on her wedding day. Ryan prepared an eloquent and thoughtful speech and he had a captive audience to share his thoughts about Makenzie.

Thank you Ryan and Makenzie for entrusting us with telling part of your story.

IU Wedding : David + Emily

An IU Wedding was the perfect choice for David and Emily, since they are Indiana University Alumni. It was such a fun wedding full of love and laughter. We first met Emily in 2014 as she was the Maid of Honor at Alex & Meredith’s wedding. She was so sweet helping to make sure I (Jen) had what I needed to get all the details shot of Meredith’s dress, shoes and accessories. Like everyone mentioned at her wedding, Emily is one of those people who you feel like you have known your entire life at the moment of meeting her for the first time. So of course I was super excited when she contacted me to film her wedding. Emily’s smile and laugh is contagious and I could not stop smiling the entire time I was editing their film. We started off the day at the Briddle Hotel at the Indianan Memorial Union on the gorgeous Indiana University Campus. We then moved on First Presbyterian Church just a few blocks away. The ceremony was so beautiful and so personal. I love when the ceremony is personalized as you can tell from their film, we had a lot of great audio content from their Pastor, Bob. After the ceremony we took some photos at the Sample Gates, and iconic location on the IU campus. Then it was on to the reception at Alumni Hall at the Indiana Memorial Union. Alumni Hall was breath taking. Once the formalities were out of the way the guests crowded the dance floor for an amazing dance party. We ended the night bidding David and Emily farewell as they exited to a sparkler exit down the grand staircase from Alumni Hall.

Thank you David and Emily for having us there to document you beautiful wedding.

We had the pleasure of working with an amazing team to make this day so special for David and Emily.
