We had so much fun capturing family photos for the Light Family. Savannah and Dakota are such sweeties and we loved chatting it up with them. We also loved having them hold the ultrasound photo to announce a new baby on his way and due to arrive in May. If you click on each photo it will enlarge the photo.
The day could not have been more perfect for John and Kaitlin’s Indianapolis wedding. It was a beautiful sunny day and for July it wasn’t unbearably hot like it could have been. Kaitlin and the girls started off their day at the Conrad downtown to get ready for the big day. John and his guys got ready at their new home in Indianapolis. The ceremony was at the beautiful North United Methodist Church just north of downtown and the reception was at the amazing Indiana Roof Ballroom.
John and Kaitlin’s story is pretty spectacular. They met just 3 years ago at the wedding for their mutual friends Billy and Jenna. They did not know each other prior to the wedding. At the reception, John, who was a groomsman for Billy, decided to approach Kaitlin. Kaitlin was a reader at the wedding, and she was on the dance floor. They hit it off from that moment on the dance floor and the rest is history.
It was a very happy and emotional day for everyone. Everything from Kaitlin’s special moment with her Mom before getting her dress on to seeing her Dad for the first time after getting in her wedding dress, to the emotion of both John and Kaitlin when seeing each other for the first time as Kaitlin walked down the isle toward John. It was hard for me (Jen) to keep back the happy tears for this amazing couple and their family. The speeches at the reception were authentic, from the heart, and impactful. The best part was the covert flash mob dance her sister Kristen planned, which John and Kaitlin were surprised with.
John, Kaitlin and the Hines and Pennington families, thank you for having us document and preserve this day for you.

This was an incredible location for a wedding on a private ranch in Illinois. This is just a teaser but their wedding film will provide the story of how they met, which is a great story. Tim and Danielle are so down to earth and we really enjoyed getting to know them. The site of the wedding had an incredible landscape view of parts of the ranch and was the perfect spot.
This is more of a personal post for us. A week and a half ago we had one of our family dinners. When you have 5 children all out of the house trying schedule family time with everyone can be difficult. We try to get together monthly but with busy wedding season it doesn’t happen every month like we would like. Ok, back to this particular family dinner. After dinner we were going to have a fire in our fire pit and John, Bria and Damien went outside to get it started while I was attending to our beautiful granddaughter Brynleigh. Bria came in to check in on her and it was at that moment Damien asked John if he could have Bria’s hand in marriage. John of course gave his blessing and then Bria came back out so Damien told John they would touch base that week.
Damien had the idea of proposing while we were shooting family photos of them at the park the following Sunday so we put the plan in place. John sent a text to both Bria and Damien to see if they wanted to do a quick photo session since the leaves are turning. We set it up to meet at Forest Park in Noblesville, Indiana. All Bria knew was we were taking family photos of them with the fall leaves. Brynleigh was not into doing the photos. Why of course our granddaughter didn’t want to smile when we have a camera in our hands. Shaylee was in on the proposal and came along to “help” with Bryn. I honestly don’t know how she kept the secret in without exploding as she is the one who always blurts it out and creates a chart to figure out who everyone has for Secret Santa. After a few photos with Bryn, John took some photos of just Damien and Bria and the code was John would say, “That’s good”. Then Damien got down on one knee and popped the question. I don’t think they realized I was actually shooting video or maybe they did but I wanted to make sure we had this moment on film for them. As you can tell by the video it was a little shaky during the proposal, one because I was so excited but also because I was crying, Happy Tears of course.
So now we will be on the other side of wedding planning and now the parents of the bride. John and I are so happy for this next chapter in our life and blessed Bria has Damien in her life. Our family is growing! Let the wedding planning begin!
We had the pleasure of filming Dan and Sadie’s Kokomo wedding. Sadie went to high school with our very own Felicia so she had been following our work for some time. We loved getting to know Dan and Sadie and learning about their story. It was a very unique story about how they met and the proposal. One of our favorite things about filming weddings is finding the story about the couple because each of our clients is unique and their story is not like anyone else.
Like many of our weddings this summer we kept our eye on the radar as we had a very rainy summer. Luckily it was just overcast all day, which is actually good for photography and video. It can be a challenge shooting in very bright sun. We were excited to see there would not be any rain for Dan and Sadie’s big day. The entire day was very relaxed and ran so smoothly. It was very sweet to see how Dan lights up when he looks at Sadie. The way he smiled as she was coming down the isle as she approached him was made me smile as I edited their film. Of course Sadie’s smile is contagious too.
Thank you Dan and Sadie for having us there to film your wedding and create your wedding film.

We hope you loved this short little teaser of Jeremy and Emily’s Laurel Hall Wedding. What started out as a very, and I mean very wet start to the day, turned out to be amazing. When we arrived the girls were so chill and relaxed. It was so lovely seeing them just hanging out and enjoying the peacefulness of the morning. While the girls were getting hair and make up done at the Omni Severin Hotel the guys were getting hair cuts and shaves over at Red’s. By the time we got to Laurel Hall the rain had stopped and the sun was starting to peek out. The rest of the day was so beautiful & emotional (I found myself tearing up several times throughout the day). We are honored to have been a part of their wedding team to preserve the day for them.

We have been looking forward to AJ and Taylor’s Conrad + Arts Garden Wedding for over a year. We knew from the vendor team this was going to be an amazing day for AJ, Taylor and their family and friends. It did not disappoint. And for one of the rare weekends this year it did not rain. From the excitement of getting ready all the way through the end of the night it was non stop fun. I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek trailer! We can’t wait to dive into the full wedding movie edit.

Miles and Marissa’s Columbia Club wedding was so beautiful. Like many weddings this year there were thunderstorms in the forecast and I was doing my anti-rain dance the entire week leading up to their big day. We were so excited to be filming Miles and Marissa’s wedding. We love The Columbia Club and we were equally excited to finally have a wedding with our good friend Molly Connor. Another special part of this wedding was the officiant. He is Miles grandfather so that made the ceremony extra special for them. As it turned out the rain was hit and miss all day. It rained during preps, then it cleared and even the sun came out for their sweet first look and photo session around the circle. Toward the end of photos we could see the black sky to the south and to the north of us. Good thing it was time to head in and prepare for the ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony and one of my favorite shots in the trailer is the cute little loving grin Miles gives to Marissa just before her dad hands her to him. The reception was a great party and we can’t wait to start editing their full movie.

I (Jen) was so incredible excited when Megan contacted us about filming her wedding. We filmed her sister Jenny’s wedding to Pete three years prior. It is always an honor when a family comes back to us for future weddings. I was even more excited to find out Megan and Chris were having their wedding in the backyard of Megan’s parents home in Columbus, Indiana.
The entire week leading up to the wedding I kept looking at the weather forecast. The percentages kept jumping from one extreme to another. Knowing how much Megan wanted this intimate backyard wedding at her childhood home I kept praying and doing my Anti-Rain dance. On the way we ran into a few spots of rain and we all kept looking at the radar all morning. They had a back up tent just in case but Megan really wanted to get married by the old tree with the rope swing. Luckily there was a break in the rain and everyone pitched in to move the chairs to the original ceremony spot.
The ceremony was so beautiful. The theme of the ceremony was about soul mates. I loved the reading about soul mates and how their officiant tied that theme into her message to Chris and Megan. It really is funny how just being in the right place at the right time can change your life forever. Had Chris not gone to visit his friend on that particular weekend and Megan hadn’t needed someone to sail with her their paths may have never crossed. I am so happy for Chris and Megan, that their paths crossed and they found each other. Just as the ceremony was wrapping up it starting raining again. Everyone ran to the reception tent to stay dry. Luckily the rain didn’t last long and the sun came out for the rest of the evening. It turned out to be an amazing evening. The Impala’s keep the dance floor rocking all evening.
Chris and Megan’s exit from the reception was a first for us, they left on a tandem bicycle! How cool is that? And yes they actually rode it to their hotel.
