Zionsville Wedding Film | Bria + Damien

It was a beautiful day for Bria and Damien’s Zionsville wedding. We were a little nervous as we had been experiencing rain on and off all week and the forecast seemed to change by the minute. This wedding film is so very special to us because after 12 years of being in the wedding industry, the time finally came we were the parents of the bride.

I (Jen) have to admit it was very hard not to be working and to just be in the moment and enjoy the day. Once the ceremony started, I was finally able to be in the moment and take it all in. John did a wonderful job with his father of the bride speech and it was difficult only using a bit for the movie. I have lost count how many times I have cried while I edited this film, happy tears of course.

Bria and Damien, Dad and I are so very proud of you as individuals, a beautiful married couple, and amazing parents to Brynleigh. We cannot wait to see all the wonderful things awaiting your future.

Thank you to all our amazing wedding “friendors” who helped us make this day so special for Bria and Damien. And a special shout out to Felicia, Jon, Laura, and Maura for documenting the day for us.

Scottish Rite Wedding Film | Karissa + Ryan

We were so excited for Karissa and Ryan’s Scottish Rite wedding. It is one of our favorite reception venues in Indianapolis. This was probably one of the longest bookings we have had to date. I remember when Karissa contacted us about filming her wedding in January of 2016. We don’t typically book out 2 years in advance and told her to contact me in July as I would be opening up the 2nd half of 2017 dates for booking then. About a week later she wrote back telling me she absolutely loved our work and wanted to book asap if possible because she did not want to miss out on having us film her wedding. So of course I loved her organization and drive and booked her!

The day was was perfect. We started off at The Alexander Hotel for getting ready and interviewed both Karissa and Ryan’s parents. What a special addition to their film. They had a private first look without photo or video in the room, then we had a ball filming the bridal party photo session around The Alexander Lobby.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful St. Mary’s Church in downtown Indianapolis. Then it was off to the Scottish Rite for the reception. They did some photos at the front steps before going inside. The hall has a wonderful second story balcony around the entire room where cocktail hour was held. Karissa and Ryan decided to be introduced and do their first dance with all their guests looking down from the balcony. After their first dance the guests were escorted down lead by the bagpiper where they received a glass of champagne with their table assignment. It was a perfect evening with amazing toasts and dancing the night away by the fabulous The Doo Band.

Karissa and Ryan, thank you for having us document your beautiful wedding and create a film for you to watch for many many years to come.

Carmel, Indiana Wedding Film | JD + Emily

I don’t know what it is like in other states, but here in Indiana the rivalry between Indiana University and Purdue University is a big deal. So when a Purdue family welcomes an IU graduate as their new son or daughter-in-law or visa versa it is usually mentioned at some point in the wedding day. I just loved how Emily’s dad incorporated it into his speech when talking about the qualities they hoped for in a husband for Emily.

The day could not have been more perfect for JD and Emily’s Carmel, Indiana wedding day. Emily and the girls started off their day at Emily’s parents home. It was a buzz of excitement and a lot of laughter. The guys met at JD and Emily’s home and enjoyed hanging out and watching football while they prepared for the day. Their ceremony was held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Fr O’Connor gave a beautiful homily on how the creating story lives out even today and God’s love in creating this new family of JD and Emily. After the ceremony we headed to downtown Carmel for some photos around the Monon Trail and Main Street then the Government Center. Then it was time to head to the party at the Ritz Charles. It was a fabulous reception with great speeches, an amazing choreographed first dance and a rocking party!

I always love learning about how people meet. I am also a true believer that things happen for a reason. JD was homesick and trying to find a job back in Indiana and met up with friends from his hometown while interviewing for a job in Indianapolis. Emily just so happened to be going out with friends from college that same night. They were the same friends and that night is when they met!!! JD says, he knew from the moment he saw her. For Emily, she knew after just a few months.

Fishers, Indiana Wedding Film | Jason + Emily

I had a thought about 10 years ago that I would marry an Emily. So every Emily I came across I thought, is she the one? Not until I met Emily Somers.” ~ Jason

It was the perfect day for Jason and Emily’s Fishers, Indiana wedding. Our team started off with Emily and the girls getting ready at their brand new home, then joined the guys getting ready at The Hawthorns Country Club. Jason and Emily had a first look before the ceremony. I love how he said “it’s you” when Emily asked what he though of her dress. The ceremony took place at Holy Spirit at Geist. After the ceremony they had a streamer send off!!! Then it was time for the party to start back at The Hawthorns Country Club.

Eiteljorg Wedding Film | Kyle + Ashley

Kyle and Ashley had a gorgeous Eiteljorg wedding reception celebrating with family and friends. It was a perfect and warm day at the end of September and the trees were still green. We started off the day with the guys getting ready at Kyle and Ashley’s home and met up with the girls at St. Christopher Catholic Church.

We love sitting down with our couples to get their story. How sweet to find out that Kyle and Ashley have known each other since the 2nd grade but a homecoming dance in high school was what brought them together as a couple. And how a beer fest put a few kinks in Kyle’s plans for proposing.

After Kyle and the guys arrived at St. Christoper Kyle and Ashley shared a private moment for their first look. If you listen closely in the film, you can hear Kyle’s heart beating when they hug. Kyle still got emotional when he saw his bride coming down the aisle toward him. Their ceremony was beautiful and I loved the story Father Matt told about the painting by Michelangelo “Creation of Adam”.

When the ceremony was over they had a bubble send off before heading downtown for photos. The guests enjoyed the cocktail hour outside on the Terrace before moving inside for the formalities.

It was a pleasure and honor to be a part of Kyle and Ashley’s wedding team. Thank you for having us there to film your day and tell your story.

Indianapolis Wedding Film | Travis + Kelsey

It was pleaser of filming Travis and Kelsey’s downtown Indianapolis wedding. We love with perfectly beautiful fall wedding days!

We started the day at the Westin downtown to meet up with Kelsey and her girls as they finished up with the initial stages of getting ready. Next it was off to Sanctuary on Penn to meet up with the guys and get detail shots of the ceremony area. The girls then arrived for final preparations.  Travis and Kelsey did not do a first look, but she did have a first look with her dad.  I love when there is a father, daughter first look.

The ceremony was beautiful. Sanctuary on Penn used to be the First Lutheran Church and was built in 1875. Due to unfortunate circumstances the church closed its doors in in 2006. Thankfully it has been restored into a venue for both ceremony and receptions. I always love the stained glass of old churches and love that the stained glass was maintained in this gem. If you are looking for a churchy venue for your downtown Indianapolis wedding, this is worth checking out.

After Travis and Kelsey said their “i do’s” we did some photos around the property then headed off to the Indiana State Museum for the reception. The Indiana State Museum is another of our favorite downtown Indianapolis wedding locations. Make sure to go check it out! We did photos around the canal area of the museum before the reception started. While we were finishing up photo/video session the cocktail hour took place outside at the Ball Family Terrace.

The guests then moved inside to the Governor Frank and Judy O’Bannon Great Hall for dinner and dancing. Kelsey’s father Don gave a wonderful speech to start off the festivities. We also heard from both the maid and matron of honor and the best man. It is evident from the speeches not only how much Travis and Kelsey are loved, but how much both of their families mean to everyone touched by them. At the end of the reception all the guest sent Travis and Kelsey off with a sparkler exit.

After I delivered their wedding film, I found out Kelsey’s father Don passed away as well as her grandmother. It then reminds me why we do what we do. It is not just a video of the wedding day. Kelsey and her family will now have in motion Don walking her down the aisle and can hear his beautiful speech to his daughter forever. Kelsey’s mother wrote to me thanking me for starting the film off with Don’s speech and how much more this wedding film means to them. I hear all the time how much more the wedding film means after the wedding.

I want to give a shout out to our great friends and super talented photographers SB Childs Photography. We love working with them!

Lake Wawasee Wedding Film | Tyler + Alyssa

Having a Lake Wawasee Wedding was perfect for Tyler and Alyssa. Not only is the lake special to Alyssa and her family, but it is where she met Tyler. We love learning about how the couple meets and their back story. As Tyler tells it, it might not have happened as his buddies he was hanging with were not up to heading to the Frog that night, but they finally came around. Not only was that night when they met but also their two best friends who got married just a few weeks before Tyler and Alyssa. I am such a firm believer in fate and you are to meet the right people at just the right time.

As lake people ourselves it was extra special to be able to film at the lake! We started off the day with Alyssa at her family’s home. Of course John fell in love with her father’s vintage Chris-Craft, which makes a few appearances in the film. We also got to hang out with Tyler at the Oakwood Resort right on the water of Lake Wawasee. This was also the location for their ceremony and reception. As soon as the guys were ready, Tyler and the groomsmen headed over to Alyssa’s home for their first look and some photos along the lake before heading to the ceremony.

The ceremony was lovely and I absolutely love when couples write their own vows. While the traditional vows are wonderful, personal vows add such a personal touch and create a film that much more unique from anyone. After the ceremony their get away was in that vintage Chris-Craft!!!
After the ceremony was time for the party! Their reception was up the hill from the lake with gorgeous views. For anyone thinking about having a Lake Wawasee Wedding, I highly recommend it!

Thank you Tyler and Alyssa for having us film your amazing wedding day. It is a pleasure and honor you chose us to capture your day and create your wedding film for you to watch over and over again for years to come.

Sahm’s Atrium Wedding | Kyle + Jenna

We posted some of our favorites of Kyle and Jenna’s wedding photos last week. This week their wedding film is complete! We loved getting to know Kyle and Jenna and it was an honor to capture their wedding day with both videography and photography. The day started off the day at The Westin downtown for both bride and groom prep. Next we were able to do their first look in the beautiful park just east of The Westin. We went to the Indiana War Memorial as well as the Canal area around the Indiana State and Eiteljorg Museums. Then it was off to the Indiana State House for their wedding ceremony. Sahm’s Atrium was the location for their wedding reception. Sahm’s is just a quick 2 blocks from the Indiana State House so it was perfect for guest to walk on the beautiful July evening we had.

What I loved most about this wedding film was hearing their story. Hearing about how Kyle and Jenna met, how she was trying to get him to ask her out on a date, and the proposal she didn’t think would ever happen. Their personalities remind me so much of John and I.

Thank you Kyle and Jenna for having our team be a part of our amazing wedding day!!!

Tabernacle Presbyterian Wedding | Kyle + Kassy

It had been a few years since we had Tabernacle Presbyterian wedding. It is such a beautiful church on the Northeast side of downtown Indianapolis. So I was thrilled when Kassy contacted me about filming their wedding to be filming there again. I was equally thrilled to be filming at the Grand Hall at Historic Union Station as well. Two amazing venues for a wedding.

It was a gorgeous day for Kyle and Kassy’s wedding. It isn’t usually typical for our clients to get ready at the church but Tabernacle Presbyterian has great getting ready rooms for the bride and groom. You could feel the excited leading up to the ceremony. Kyle and Kassy decided not to do a first look but they did get to pray together before the ceremony.

We love when our clients elect the interview aspect for their film. It ties together their story leading up to the wedding day. In Kyle and Kassy’s story I love how they both were determined to focus on their education when they arrived at Butler University as freshman and within months were dating. I also love that he took her back to Butler to propose.

The wedding ceremony so sweet. The reaction of Kyle seeing his bride walking down the aisle for the first time is priceless. Seeing the smile on Kassy’s face and the joy of becoming Kyle’s wife was apparent all day. It is wonderful to see and hear how important it is for them to put Christ at the center of their marriage. It followed through in the speeches given at the reception as well.

After the ceremony we headed to the Lockerbie area for photo session while the guests enjoyed cocktails at Union Station. Then it was time for the celebration!!! It was a fun reception at the Grand Hall at the Historic Union Station. Every time I am there I look around and think about all the people who came though on their travels via train to our great city.

Kyle and Kassy thank you for having us document your wedding day and create your film for you to watch for years and years to come.

South Bend Wedding Film | Zachery + Carol

Zachery and Carol’s South Bend wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Holy Spirit Chapel in LeMans Hall on the Saint Mary’s Collage campus. Carol is a Saint Mary’s Alumni and it is also the place Zachery asked her to be his girlfriend. The reception took place at the lovely St. Joe Farm not far away in Granger, Indiana. The farm has historical ties to both Saint Mary’s College and the University of Notre Dame. It once supplied all the food for both campuses. There is a little fun fact for your day.

I first met Zachery and Carol via a Skype call since they were living in Illinois at the time and could not meet in person. I loved getting to know them, their story, and what was important to them. They told me they met on Catholic Match and their Catholic faith is very important to them. I created their wedding film to reflect their faith. It was not difficult to do since Father Ryan’s message tied not only their personal faith into the scripture readings but how they as a married couple will continue to live a life of faith.

We love when we get a South Bend Wedding. They are usually tied to the University of Notre Dame or Saint Mary’s College. Both have beautiful campuses. After the ceremony the couple and bridal party went around the Saint Mary’s campus for photos before heading over to Notre Dame to visit the Grotto so Zachary and Carol could light a candle and pray together as a married couple.

We then made our way to St Joe Farm for the reception. What a beautiful barn. It is probably the largest barn we have ever filmed a wedding in. Oh and one of the few that has air conditioning. Perfect for a July wedding. If you are getting married in the South Bend area, I highly recommend checking this place out!!! The cocktail hour was outside then everyone moved inside for dinner and dancing.

Zachery and Carol thank you for having us film your wedding day. It was an honor to document your story and create your wedding film.
